God we don't understand why things are the way they are. But, we do know that we are suffering now because of the loss of a loved one. We know that with time our suffering will lessen, but we will never feel the same again because of the ways that CORY has influenced our lives. God we don't understand why things are the way they are. But, we do know that we are suffering now because of the loss of a loved one. We know that with time our suffering will lessen, but we will never feel the same again because of the ways that CORY has influenced our lives.
God we know that death is a necessary part of life, and that all of us will go through this process. But, it scares us and leaves us with doubt. We know that you made the universe the way you did for a reason. So we trust in you God, that death is part of your purpose for us. We do want to thank you God, for allowing us to share our feelings with each other. We recognize that by so doing that we can share our pain and in some small way lessen it.
God we know that you expect us to work out our problems amongst ourselves, so that we can be better people as our loved one would have wanted us to. God we also know that you want us to be happy again, just as our loved one would have wanted us to be happy again. But for now we mourn. And we should mourn for the loss of someone near and dear to us, because it is the human thing to do.
God we know that we will hurt while we mourn, but we also know that someday we will not hurt as much and will carry on with our lives. Just as you, and our departed loved one would have wanted us to.

Our family was one among those that were blessed because of Tita Cory's dedication to bring democracy back in the Philippines. I am now in the U.S. and her love for her country and her countrymen makes me proud that I am a Filipino and a mother like her. Although my kids are only 4 and 5 years of age, I told them to bid goodbye and throw flying kisses for Grandma Cory as a sign of thanks and love. My heart melt when my youngest said, "she can't see me, the flag covers her." So when I saw a video with Tita Cory talking, I told him to do so and said, "that is my Grandma Cory."
I cried so many times especially whenever I hear Kris talk...I could relate to my relationship with my mom and how mine fights with me through sorrows and pains, through joys and victories, small or large like Tita Cory.
Thank you Tita Cory...you are indeed God's blessing to us all.

Para kay Tita Cory by S.F. Libunao ------------ --------- --
Never in my life had I cried continuously during the burial ceremonies of someone I don't know...and it took almost 8 hours...to bring her to her final resting place...via a live tv coverage...with a swarm of people who came to bid her goodbye.
I only knew her image, the concept of her and what she represented. Yet, what she represented was the core of what the Filipino came to be proud of...the 'people power' that brought about our renewed democracy in the 80's...I can faintly remember back then.
One very promising writer Paulo Coelho wrote: Each human being was given two qualities: power and the gift. Power directs us towards our destiny; the gift obliges us to share with others what is best in us.
This woman had the privilege of being given both...power and gift. Her ascend in to power brought the country up from its knees...it has directed her towards our destiny to be free again. And, she has the gift of 'love' and 'courage' which she has generously shared to all Filipinos... and her gift have brought out what is best in us for the love of our country.
------------ --------- ---------
To the woman...who was brought to power because of destiny...
To the woman...who was the living reminder that 'goodness' and 'purity' still exists among us.
To the woman...who radiated 'peace', 'sincerity', and 'humility'.. .
To the woman...who touched our hearts as we became witness to her 'unconditional love' to her 'erring' daughter...
To the woman...who was there when the country had no one else...
To the woman...whose delicate and peaceful exterior masked a tough and brave soul...
To the woman...whom we wished we can become...
To the woman...who was the second most important person in the country's history in the 20th century...the first, of course, was her husband, Ninoy.
To this great woman...whom we will miss dearly...and we can only keep her in the recesses of our hearts...forever!
Thank you, Than Tita Cory...for a life well-lived.. .in service of others...in service of the Filipinos!
